Wear in the World: Traveling Hat Tips

I always travel with a hat for sun and a hat for fun —usually a wide, white sombrero for shade and cool, and a flirtatious black fascinator for elegance and spark. In addition to keeping me cool, the big brim has become an ambassador of culture, whether resting on a table beside my coupe de champagne in L’Isle-sur-la Sorgue or nesting on a wall at the cloisters of Chartreuse in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon, inviting series upon series of souvenir smiles from wordless worldly encounters.

A hat is poetry for head and hair. 

A hat speaks volumes of vim and Veuve.

A hat is affirmation of style and substance when 

roaming new boundaries and byways.

And to top it off, a hat heralds adventure…

The calendar fills with events, dates, soirées.  It is hat weather.  But it is always hat weather in a world of welcomes, the cusps of creation, the seasons of change.  I adore New England for its inimitable ability to shift into season and survival with the stroke of a pendulum’s pen… saffron-tinged leaves at the first sign of autumn or snow-covered birdbaths in the wink of winter’s slumber.  New England is Nature’s change-agent., a concierge of surprise and discovery. Inspiration amongst the instincts.  

What to do with the adrenaline accompanying the shivers of l’hiver?  Cover your corps, from head to toe.  And choose grace, elegance, daring with a flurry of fun.  Felt,  feathers, fur of your liking to complement your crystalline crown. 

In a culture trending Casual Friday, trend Elegant Everyday.  Be the face of layered sophistication — for every outing — with hat pairings marrying mood, style, energy and taste.  Opera outing?  Coy cocktail (always to be removed as curtain opens).   Seasonal shopping?  Festive felt.  Holiday host?  Your fest; your fez.  What matters most is offering a glimmer of spark to the glamour of speak.  Afraid you don’t look good in hats?  My response: Just Wear It.  Hats are communal conversation-starters — they add a layer of energy to every exchange.  Why not trust in the neutrinos of nuance?  Also known as mystique… wonder… chemistry… inspiration.  And if desirous of a destination, event, or adventure that invites you to adorn your favorite find, follow our leads.  All paths lead to hat portals:)
